Let me introduce a little surprising news article I read recently.
A person tweeted like
"Is it a breach of manners to take medicines in front of people?"
and more than 30 thousand people retweeted this.
This person has a severe PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) and constantly takes a hormone drug. One day at a restaurant, she tried to take the medicines after a meal, then a person seated right next to her with a child said “To take medicines in front of people is a breach of manners.” and also said “It’s uncomfortable to see like this during meals.”
It was hard for me to believe immediately, then I was surprised and felt sad by reading this article.
What's wrong with taking medicine after eating in public places?
Yes, it’s not very happy to see someone taking medicines in a place to eat, but does it make you feel uncomfortable? Does it smell bad? If not, I don’t think it’s a big problem and it should not be said such a thing by others. For the person, it would rather be a serious problem without taking the medicines.
However, now you know some people actually feel uncomfortable like this, so you may be better to think about it when you take medicines in public place, in order to avoid such unnecessary troubles. For example, you take medicines where people right next to you cannot see; eventually it makes you comfortable without any troubles afterwards.
